Rome Model United Nations (RomeMUN) is powered by the non-for profit association Giovani nel Mondo, which was born with the purpose of creating new arenas for youth and young ideas.
RomeMUN is also organized thanks to the support of prestigious universities, national and international institutions, companies and youth-run associations.
The fourth edition of RomeMUN will take place in Rome, from the 7th to the 11th of March 2013, in cooperation with Luiss Guido Carli University and eminent institutional organizations (further information available soon).
The number of the delegates who will take part to the event as well as the number of the committees that will be represented is growing more and more: 1200 delegates, organized in 7 different committees and agencies of United Nations are expected to be present and the young students coming from 50 different countries from all 5 continents will be the leading actors of a single big debate, international in nature and unique for the originality of its subjects.
How to achieve the Millennium Development Goals is the guide principle of the RomeMUN 2013 edition.
MUN Conferences are simulations of the United Nations main activities during which participants are assigned to delegations which represent the positions of their countries in the General Assembly, Security Council and many other committees.
Within the committees, the participants play the role of representatives from their assigned states to debate the chosen topic agenda. Delegates represent the foreign policy of their assigned state and their job is present their point of view to the other members. The debates are organized in formal English while student diplomats have to observe formal and diplomatic procedure.
